Matthew C. Nodier

Matthew C. Nodier grew up a citizen of Louisiana growing up in Lake Charles, Covington, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.  After graduating from De La Salle High School in New Orleans, Matthew attended LSU in Baton Rouge initially, but eventually graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans with a BA in Communications in 1995.  After graduation, Matthew returned to LSU to attend law school. While there, Matthew was elected Vice President of the Student Bar Association and revived and wrote for the student newspaper, The Civilian.  He graduated in 1998. Matthew is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.

From the start of his legal career, Matthew has been in courtrooms trying cases and arguing at hearings.  As a result, Matthew has amassed an immense amount of experience in court and in all phases of litigation.  He has tried over 100 cases  – both judge and jury trials – to verdict and has personally tried these cases or argued motions in over 26 parishes, 8 different city courts, and all federal district courts.  He has also argued cases in Louisiana’s First, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal, all Louisiana US District Courts, and the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Matthew’s career has consistently focused his practice on providing defense and protection for businesses and insurance companies from personal injury and property damage claims. 

 

After playing rugby for LSU and later for New Orleans Men’s Rugby Club, Matthew hung up his cleats for good in 2006 and took up soccer.  After 13 years of kicking the ball around, Matthew has moved on to hunting, fishing, and CrossFit. He resides in Baton Rouge with his wife and two cats, Puss and Boots.  His two children are currently in college. He is an active member at Our Lady of Mercy Parish and received the Parish Mother Seton Award in April 2016 for exemplary volunteerism.
